Bill Moyers For President Spreads Across the Web!

The movement to ask Bill Moyers to run for President in 2008 is spreading across the web this week. Jim over at Irregular Times has a good article about the many people writing in favor of Bill Moyers for President. He fails, though, to mention the blog entry by Carlos over at Jesus Politics, which links back to this very site.

It bugs me a little bit, however, that so many of the sites under the Google search for Bill Moyers for President are merely republishings of the articles written by Molly Ivins and Ralph Nader saying that they'd like to see Bill Moyers runn for President. Good for those two for writing the articles, but we would all be better served if the diversity of writings on the subject were reflected in the search. There are a lot of people interested in the Bill Moyers for President concept, after all.

Democracy is not reflected only in the writings of people who get published in big name newspapers. Democracy is made by us all.

  • I would canvass neighborhoods in a campaign for Bill Moyers! I have done this before, but got disillusioned the more I found out about the candidates and their ability to be bought. I vowed I would never do this again unless I really believed in the candidate! In the corrupt sea of politics I could only hope that Bill Moyers could stay afloat, and that the PEOPLE would stand up and support him and cry out for a man of integrity and truth. This includes the the GenXers who have every right to be ambivalent about politics and the state of our nation. I am a boomer who has a lot in common with GenX...the generation that cannot have the basics like education, homes and good job because of the rampant greed of our political leaders/system. I believe Moyers is a man that all ages of voters could stand behind!
